Just a quick update on how things are progressing with the upcoming anti-AI anthology. First off - apologies to anyone still waiting for a reply to their submissions, one is coming in the next day or so but between a hectic few weeks and me just looking at things and going 'yeah, that's good' the actual action bit got a bit lost.
On the plus side there has been some very good stuff through so far and for now it's still open to submissions - I know the deadline passed a week ago but I realised the second that happened that everyone was sending my stuff late, which is fair enough really. In future I may just announce a new deadline every week to panic people into submitting! Anyway - the plan moving forward is for me to start breaking down the contributions into (somewhat) coherent sections and working on ordering/layout. I'll also be sending some pieces out to those who've volunteered to do editing work so they can look stuff over. To be honest I don't think there's a huge amount of work to do on that front, most stuff coming in has been pretty solid but different eyes may see different things.
Up until the layout is finalised though there's still space to add more so don't hesitate to send stuff if you have it. Length wise I'm not sure what the final product will be, I need to sit down and doing some proper accounting, but for the lovers of physical mediums I do still think a limited print run will be the way along with the obligatory, free, digital version.
I'll also be contacting contributors soon with details on a donations mechanism. Basically I want anyone who enjoys the work to have a way to send a few quid to the creators if they want to. I have no idea how many people will want to participate in that but even with a free project like this I think it's a nice thing to do. And I've found a platform that might be suitable too (of course people can use any platform they want and I'd have nothing to do with any of them, will just be making a suggestion).
Otherwise I don't think there's too much to report. As I said, keep on submitting work and, all being well, I'd say late September is a likely time for things to be completely done with the obvious caveat that life can be chaotic and this is very much a labour of love rather than a main job.
